440 MHz UltraSPARC IIi Engine Simple Type: CPU Board

Themis' USP IIi-1v combines the new UltraSPARC IIi, Sun Microelectronics' highly integrated 64-bit SPARC V.9 superscalar processor, with a high-speed, single slot VME64 architecture. Two and three slot configurations facilitate I/O expansion. The USPIIi-1V is ideal for telecommunications and ruggedized COTS applications. This low-cost, high-performance 6U platform combines 440 MHz UltraSPARC IIi RISC processing with SunSoft Solaris compatibility, giving the user access to thousands of Solaris 2.x off-the-shelf software solutions. Memory is expandable using memory mezzanine cards, from 64 Mbytes to 1 Gbyte. L2 cache is 1024K. Both the value and performance of USPIIi-1V are complemented by a complete set of workstation I/O features. The USPIIi-1V includes dual Ultra Wide SCSI ports, one 10/100Base-T Ethernet or MII port, two RS-232 serial ports all on a single slot 6U platform. Designed for the highest level of configuration flexibility, the USPIIi-1V is also available in two slot and three slot versions, with expanded I/O (multiprotocol serial ports, parallel port) for computing intensive applications. In the two slot version the USPIIi-1V may be configured with a Creator Graphics board (USPIIi-1v/2C) and expanded I/O, or with three PMC expansion (USPIIi-1v/2P) capability.
